Should I trade TEX for M3?
Discussion started by Nightale , on 25 July 04:22 PM

Hello there!

I'm in the middle of a dillemma in the last days.

I've been owning a wonderful KORG Triton Extreme 76 keys for almost 4 years. It has the EXB-Moss upgrade as well. I really love it and the sounds are very impressive, heavy and variate. It has a lot of possibilities. However, I made the mistake, 4 years ago, to buy the 76-keys with synth action instead of buying the 88-keys with piano-action (RH2). This feature is really missing me.

I have the opportunity to buy an used but mint condition Korg M3 88 keys for 2200$ canadian (around 2100$ US). This keyboard is interesting because of the 88 keys (RH3) and of all the physics controllers (faders, etc). However, I've tried it once or twice in store and I am not sure about the sounds. I know the MOSS on my TEX can generate crazy bad ass sound and most of the people tell me to stick with it. However, I'm not using it very often . I don't know that much about the M3 too. On my TEX, I used : sampling, sequencing, sound modelling. (sometimes arpergiators)

So, I need you advice, should I trade in my TEX to buy the M3? . How much do you think I can have for my TEX+Moss ? Should I wait for Korg's next wave of workstations? I guess this will be soon since the M3 is out since 3-4 years and the OASYS has been discontinued last year....

What do you think?

I suggest you to change and purchase the M3...
Extreme and Moss are very powerfull and really close to M3 in the sense of programming..

M3 has more samples, more FX, more ams and is the best Korg workstation.

I think you can sell your extreme + moss for 1400-1500 USdollars
